BeOS on a PowerMac 7500-G3

Just for the heck of it, I installed BeOS 4.5 on a PowerMac 7500 with a Sonnet G3 233MHz processor card. The Mac was one of the last ones I had picked up at school for free. A lab had upgraded to the latest and greatest and put this one, along with several others, out in the hall to be hauled off.

A PM7500 that hasn’t been upgraded won’t run BeOS since it has only a PPC601 processor. Since later revisions with 604′s in the same motherboard are known to work, I decided to check and see if this one did, and it does. I haven’t done much with it yet, but I think it’s neat that I now have a Be PPC machine.
