Washington, DC, here I come.

This coming week, I will be attending the ACS Washington, DC National Meeting. I’m going to see some friends give posters and presentations, but I admit the main reason I will be there is to meet prospective employers for interviews. I’ve had extraordinary success in lining up some beforehand.

As of today, I have eleven interviews. Twelve, if you count that two divisions from the same company are meeting with me during the same block of time. I am very enthusiastic that some will lead to on site interviews, which will hopefully lead to a few offers. Three of the other postdoctoral fellows I have been working with have recently accepted offers in varying industries and locations, leading many to think that the economy is improving and that more opportunities will be available very soon.

While I am away, Melissa has invited Jamie down to visit. So far, I believe their plan is to watch scary movies, make rice cripsy treats and fudge, and play World of Warcraft.
