Rejected, Yet Still Positive

I checked my email this morning when I get back to work, after spending the last three days traveling to, at, and from an interview far away, to find that I’ve been rejected. Although rejection is always disheartening, I am not too hurt, because I currently have a good job, albeit a “temporary postdoc”, where I am wanted, even needed, to get the job done. Also, it can easily be extended for a year or two more. I’ve even spoken to the higher ups about the process of staying on permanently, which is a good possibility.
