Delaware, Here We Come

Yes, I know I haven’t posted in a quite a while. We’ve had a lot of work to do recently trying to figure out our next big move. See, I finally can begin my real world work experience, with a post postdoctoral position. (How’s that for alliteration!)

I recently accepted a position at a start up company in Delaware. The job sounds cool and its going to be really interesting to help create the technology for a new company. What will I be doing, you may ask? All I can say is that I will be functionalizing carbon nanotubes for sensor applications.

Melissa and I flew out there last week to find a place to rent. We ended up finding a nice three bedroom ranch-style house in a nice neighborhood. (“You know, with a little ranch…”) The rent is higher than I would like, but I figure living in a secluded area in the California desert with cheap rent has spoiled me a bit.

Melissa’s parents will be flying out here at the beginning of next month to help us drive a rental truck across the country. Melissa and I will be driving our cats in our new, used minivan, a 1999 Ford Windstar. We’re giving our old car, a 1994 Mazda 626, to her parents, since they need another car, and they’re helping us out so much.
