I recently upgraded our home network with a refurbished Netgear wireless-G router and a refurbished Netgear wireless-G print server. Our wired D-Link router died back in the California desert and an old Linksys wireless-B one I picked up near Los Angeles via Freecycle has been kind of flaky. The wireless print server has a built-in four port switch, which is nice since I can now hook up the ReplayTV and Playstation 2 in the living room to the internet without having to string cable down the hallway.
I also bought a generic combo Firewire/USB2/Gigabit Ethernet PCI adapter for my Beige G3 Powermac. The drivers for the USB and Firewire parts are already in Mac OS 9.2.2 and 10.3.9, but not for the network portion. I found some drivers on the chipset manufacturer’s website which work fine in 10.3.9, but not 9.2.2. I don’t use Classic that often, so I don’t see it as a big problem. The OS 9 driver did come with some intructions on how to change some code to possibly make it work.
