Here’s a bunch of info that I found in Apple’s support section a while back. Most of this was in a post I made to the Apple forums, but apprently they delete the older posts regularly.
For all functions of the card to work, you need to use Mac OS 8.0 through 9.2.2.
Software to use: Apple Video Player, BTV/BTV Pro, or Adobe Premiere. BTV seems to give the best balance for features and ease of use. AVP is free though and comes with Mac OS 8.0 – 9.2.2.
The only things that don’t work in OS X are the video-in ports.
